Following my tradition of watching Chrsitmas adverts, here´s my selection this year. As you may guess,  the leit-motif is the covid and the need of gathering with families again. 

This year the best presents are you! 

1. Advert 1: Tesco

Watch carefully and discuss how this AD represents the new realities that we are forced to live now.

Scene summary: 

It´s a new Christmas TESCO Ad about the obstacles that we have been facing all year long.It´s with a happy ending.

2. Advert 2: Disney

The stunning animated short film  centres on a new stepdad as he moves in with his partner and her two children, and tries to find his place in the family around the festive period.

It is also a sequel to last year´s advert, where little girls Nicole bonded with her grandmother over their Christmas traditions. Nicole is now the grown-up, with two children of her own. 

The song is beautiful and it has viewers in tears of emotional feeling. The song is "Love Runs Deeper" by Gregory Porter.

It´s Christmas Time!

Elton John and Ed Sheeran´s Merry Christmas

This is like a dream made true! 

My two favourite singers singing a Christmas song in my favourite time of the year!  What else can I ask? 😜

Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John have released their first holiday single “Merry Christmas,” one of three seasonal songs the duo wrote together.

Complete with sleigh bells, a flying snowman, a mariachi singer, a disco-driven drummer, and more in their band of characters in the video, “Merry Christmas” captures the familiar festivities of kissing under the mistletoe and gathering around the tree, while honoring those who have gone in the past year.

So kiss me under the mistletoe

Pour out the wine, let’s toast and pray for December snow

I know there’s been pain this year, but it’s time to let it go

Next year, you never know

But for now, Merry Christmas, we’ll

Dance in the kitchen while embers glow
