CHRISTMAS AND SPOTS

Looking forward to having Christmas around?

The retailer´s Christmas TV spot, with its *pithy narrative, softly sung cover version and emotional *denouement has become a major event on the marketing calendar in England.

Watch the new Christmas advert The Man on the Moon by John Lewis and sing the song Half the World Away, originally by Oasis but performed by 19-year-old Norwegian newcomer Aurora Asksnes.
*pithy = breve
*denoument = desenlace

REVIEW
The latest John Lewis advert plays on the theme of loneliness and introduces a little girl, Lily, who is desperate to make contact with a solitary man who lives on the Moon. Looking at the moon through her family telescope one night, she is amazed at what she finds, a man on the moon.
Lily watches on as our man goes about his chores, all alone up there. She becomes determined to get something to the moon, to send him a message and show him that someone down here is thinking of him.

And now,  Oasis´original song written and sung by Noel Gallagher.

TOP NEWS: The founder of Facebook *gives away 99% of his stock

The news that Mark Zuckerberg is to donate 99 per cent of his shares to charity following the birth of his daughter may have surprised some. Why would the billionaire choose to freely give away stock worth $45bn (about £30bn)? Here’s a clue: “"Priscilla and I are so happy to welcome our daughter Max into this world. For her birth, we wrote a letter to her about the world we hope she grows up in,” the 31-year-old Facebook founder began in an open letter to newborn Max.

GIVINGTUESDAY

WHAT IS #GIVINGTUESDAY?

Americans have a day for giving thanks: Thanksgiving Day. They have two
for getting deals: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Now, they have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back.
On Tuesday, December 1, 2015, charities, families, businesses,
community centers, and students around the world will come together
for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your
company or your organization to come together to give something more.

It´s a pity few people heard about this on the news yesterday!

“Viva la vida” (Coldplay)

I _________________ the world,
Seas would rise when I _____________
Now in the morning I sleep alone,
Sweep the streets I _______________
I ____________ the dice,
______________ in my enemies’ eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
“Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”
One minute I held the key,
next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing, Roman Catholic choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield, My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I _______________, Once you know there was never,
Never an honest word…that was when I ruled the world

It was the _________________________,
blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums,
people could not believe  _________________
Revolutionaries wait
for my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string—
Oh who would ever want to be King?
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing, Roman Catholic choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield, My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can’t explain, I know Saint Peter won’t call my name
Never an honest word…and that was when I ruled the world

On Valentine’s day, I think of you, Mom;

In my life that’s full of many good things,
You’re the very best thing I’ve got!

It’s Valentine’s Day, so I want to say,
I’m the luckiest kid anywhere;
You’re the sweetest, greatest, best mom around
And I want you to know I care!

Happy Valentine’s Day, Mom!

Very pretty,
Always witty,
 Lovely smile,
Excellent style,

Indisputedly divine,
Now and always,
Ever mine!

Nothing´s Gonna Change My Love For You

I Wanna Grow Old with You

And my favourite this year: a very romantic love song by Ed Sheeran:

Thinking out Loud

When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love?
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks?

And, darling, I will be loving you 'til we're 70
And, baby, my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Well, me—I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are

When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades
And the crowds don't remember my name
When my hands don't play the strings the same way
I know you will still love me the same

'Cause honey your soul could never grow old, it's evergreen
And, baby, your smile's forever in my mind and memory
I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe it's all part of a plan
Well, I'll just keep on making the same mistakes
Hoping that you'll understand

But, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
Thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are

So, baby, now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Oh, darling, place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
That maybe we found love right where we are
Oh, baby, we found love right where we are
And we found love right where we are
